Morning—Kathmandu to Swayambhunath

Your adventure begins in the morning with a short briefing and introduction to your guide before setting off on your motorbike. The ride takes you through the energetic streets of Kathmandu toward Swayambhunath Stupa, one of the valley's most recognizable landmarks.

Perched on a hill overlooking Kathmandu, Swayambhunath offers both cultural significance and beautiful views across the valley. After parking the bikes, explore the stupa complex, prayer wheels, Buddhist shrines, and colorful prayer flags before continuing the ride toward the historic center of Kathmandu.

Late Morning – Basantapur Durbar Square

Your next stop is Basantapur Durbar Square, the historic heart of old Kathmandu. Once part of the royal palace complex, the square is surrounded by ancient temples, courtyards, traditional buildings, and impressive examples of Newari architecture.

Take time to explore the palace area and its surrounding streets while learning about the history and culture of the Kathmandu Valley. The nearby alleys also provide an opportunity to see everyday local life before getting back on the motorbike.

Midday – Local Lunch and Ride Toward Patan

After exploring Basantapur, continue riding through the city's historic neighborhoods toward Patan. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and enjoy traditional Nepali food or other available options.

The ride itself is part of the experience. As you move between the major landmarks, you will pass through busy streets, local markets, traditional settlements, and changing urban landscapes that reveal another side of Kathmandu.

Afternoon – Patan Durbar Square

Continue toward Patan, one of the Kathmandu Valley's most important centers of art, architecture, and Newari culture. Visit Patan Durbar Square, where intricately carved temples, stone sculptures, traditional courtyards, and historic palace buildings showcase the extraordinary craftsmanship of the valley.

Take time to walk around the square and explore its surrounding streets before returning to the motorbike. The combination of historic architecture and lively local neighborhoods makes Patan one of the most memorable stops of the day.

Late Afternoon – Boudhanath Stupa

From Patan, continue your ride toward Boudhanath, one of Nepal's most important Buddhist landmarks. As you approach the area, the atmosphere changes noticeably, with prayer flags, monasteries, traditional shops, pilgrims, and visitors gathered around the enormous white stupa.

Take a walk around the stupa and experience the peaceful rhythm of Buddhist prayer and daily life. You can also enjoy a coffee or traditional snack at one of the rooftop cafés overlooking Boudhanath before beginning the final ride back toward Kathmandu.

Evening – Return to Kathmandu

As the day comes to an end, enjoy a relaxed ride back toward Kathmandu. Depending on traffic and road conditions, the guide may choose a convenient route back to the starting point.
