Do you want to see Mount Everest with your own eyes? Do you want to spend nights in picturesque Sherpa villages? Are you looking for a short and adventurous trek in the Everest region? Is high altitude and altitude sickness your biggest concern? If so, then the Everest Panorama trek is for you.

The Everest Panorama trek is the easiest trek one can do in the Everest region. Our Everest Panorama trek 9 days ascends only up to Tengboche village, so the altitude sickness risk is low.

If high altitude is something that has been holding you back from exploring the beauty and tranquility of the Everest region, then the Everest Panorama trek is the perfect option for you.

You will take the same Lukla flights and follow the same EBC trek route. However, instead of hiking all the way to the Everest Base Camp, you will return from Tengboche village.

Our Everest Panorama trek itinerary has night stops in Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Lukla. These are some of the finest Sherpa villages where you will see their daily lifestyle and culture.

The journey is adventurous, exciting, and scenic. You will have a wholesome time with the locals and witness jaw-dropping views of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Kongde Ri, etc.

We, Base Camp Trip, specialize in Everest treks. We offer both standard trekking and climbing packages in the Everest region and curate customer trekking programs to fit our trekker's fitness, condensers, and budget.

We do not want your health, time, fitness, or budget to limit you from exploring the Himalayas. Therefore, we have designed the Everest Panorama trek 9 days and many other unique trekking programs across the Himalayas.

Bookings are open for the Everest Panorama trek 2025/2026 departures. You can do this trek throughout the year.

The main attractions of the Everest Panorama trek

Lukla flights

You will start and end the trek with 30-minute Lukla flights. One of the things that trekkers look forward to while trekking in the Everest region is the Lukla flight because of this airport's location, short runway, tiny aircraft, outstanding aerial views of the Himalayas, and overall thrilling experience.

Diverse flora and fauna of Sagarmatha National Park and hanging suspension bridges

The Sagarmatha National Park starts from Monjo village. However, you will trek through lush forests of rhododendrons and magnolia, leaving Lukla. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses many suspension bridges over this river and deep gorges.

Apart from rhododendrons and magnolias, you will also see many other wildflowers and vegetation along the trail. Trekkers do not encounter wildlife but may see different species of birds and pass by domestic animals like yaks and mules.

Namche Bazaar

Namche Bazaar is the largest Sherpa settlement and a famous stop on the EBC route. It is a full town located 3,400 meters (11,290 ft) above sea level. Trekkers take an acclimatization break here.

Namche Bazaar has many modern amenities along with luxury lodges. Here, you will explore the Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum.

Likewise, there are many shops, cafes, and restaurants scattered around the town. You may not have expected it, but this place also has pubs, bars, and places selling sushi, pizzas, steak, biryani, etc.

Hike to the Hotel Everest View

Hotel Everest View is a luxury hotel located at 3,962 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level. This hotel once held the Guinness World Record for being the highest hotel in the world.

The main attraction of this hotel is Mount Everest View from all its windows. From Namche Bazaar, you will hike to Hotel Everest View. It will be your acclimatization hike.

Tengboche Monastery

Tengboche Monastery is the biggest monastery in the Everest region. It is situated 3,860 meters (12,660 ft) above sea level. You can see a striking view of Everest and Ama Dablam from this monastery.

Visiting Tengboche Monastery will present you with the rich culture of the locals and make your trip more immersive. There are many monks in this monastery, and seeing them doing their daily activities will bring you peace.

Stunning views of the tallest mountain in the world

The main aim of designing the Everest Panorama trek package is to allow trekkers to witness Mount Everest's view without hiking to EBC or other high altitudes.

During the trek, you will see superb Mount Everest views and other mountains like Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Along with that, you will also see captivating lush scenery.

Sherpa culture and hospitality

Sherpas are one of the native communities from the Everest region. They are popular for their strength, resilience, and kind nature. During the Everest Panorama trekking, you will have ample opportunity to interact with Sherpas.

You will see their lifestyle and traditions and get to know them and their beliefs closely. In addition, you will also meet with other communities like Rai, Lama, and Bhotiya and get to know them.

Short itinerary and affordable package cost

On 9 days Everest Panorama trek, you will spend six days hiking and the remaining three days traveling to/from Lukla. The itinerary also includes your arrival and departure from Kathmandu.

Everest Panorama Trek - 9 Days Itinerary

On your arrival day, we will pick you up from the international airport and escort you to the hotel. Our team will help you check in at the hotel. You can rest briefly and later meet us for a trek briefing.

During the meeting, you will meet with your trek guide. He will brief you on the itinerary and what you can expect during the hike. After the meeting, you have the remaining day free. Buy your trekking essentials and pack duffel bags.

In the last few years, Lukla flights have been operated from Ramechhap Airport instead of Kathmandu Airport between March and May and September and November. These are the peak travel months in Nepal, so thousands of travelers from around the world flock to Kathmandu Airport, which leads to high air traffic.

The main reason for shifting Lukla flights to Ramechhap Airport was to ensure no delays. You will leave your hotel at 2:00 AM and drive for 4 to 5 hours to reach Ramechhap Airport. From here, take a short 30-minute flight to Lukla. The mountain views are excellent during the flight.

From Lukla, we will head to Phakding village. The trail descends, following the Dudh Koshi River, and passes through small villages. The highlight of the trail is rhododendron blossoms and several suspension bridges.

While trekking through Phakding to Namche Bazaar, we will pass by beautiful Sherpa villages and enter the Sagarmatha National Park. The national park starts from Monjo. We will reach here in around two hours of walking from Phakding village.

The trail follows the river and goes through rhododendron forests. After registering our permits in Monjo, we'll continue hiking and cross the famous Tenzing Hillary Suspension Bridge. It will be a thrilling moment. After crossing the bridge, the trail steeply ascends to Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar is the perfect location for an acclimatization break before hiking to Tengboche. We will start hiking to the Hotel Everest View early in the morning. As we hike, striking views of Thamserku will begin to emerge.

Upon reaching Hotel Everest View, we will also see mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. We can end the hike or also walk to the ancient Khumjung Monastery.

After returning to Namche Bazaar, we will visit the Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum. Later in the day, we can leisurely explore the bustling market, cafes, and restaurants.

Namche Bazaar is also the largest Sherpa settlement, so the locals and observing their daily lives will also be our highlight of the day.

We will trek to one more village today. It is called Tengboche and is famous for Tengboche Monastery. This is the biggest monastery in the Everest region, and it once housed 10,000+ monks. Likewise, the view from Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam is also very beautiful.

The trail from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche is scenic. Following rugged hillsides, start walking and gradually descend to Phungi Thenga. We will have lunch here and continue trekking, following an uphill route to Tengboche.

We will start the day with a delicious breakfast and get ready to leave Tengboche village. We will descend using the same trail back that we used while ascending.

The scenery is the same as before but still mesmerizing. First, we will descend Phungi Thenga and follow a rugged trail to Namche Bazaar. The evening is free, so we'll explore the village.

*Note: You can extend the trek to Dingboche village or further if you want.

Today, we will trek back to Lukla. It is also our last day of the hike, so we will take our time and enjoy nature. From Namche Bazaar, the trail descends steeply and enters a forested route.

We will hike through rhododendron forests and cross several hanging bridges on the way to Phakding. Moving ahead, the trail gradually ascends along the Dudh Koshi River.

As we hike to Lukla, we will re-cross all suspension bridges. In the evening, enjoy a celebratory dinner with your guide and porter.

On this day, we will say goodbye to the Everest region and your porter and fly back to Kathmandu with your guide. If we do the Everest Panorama trek in the spring or autumn seasons, we will land at Ramechhap Airport.

From here, it will be around a 4-hour drive to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, the guide will drop you at the hotel. Freshen up and rest. Later, visit your nearby historical sites and window shop in Thamel.

Leave the hotel on time and follow our representatives to Tribhuvan International Airport. They will help you with the luggage and bid you our last goodbye.

Essential Information

Everest Panorama trek difficulty

  • Moderate (much easier than the Everest Base Camp trek)
  • Daily walking hours: 5-7 hours
  • Suitable for beginners? Yes

Compared to most treks in the Everest region, the Everest Panorama trek is very easy and highly recommended to beginner trekkers. The trek involves 5 to 7 hours of walking daily, but the itinerary is short, so you will not find these hours of walking extremely taxing.

Whether you are old, an adult, or a kid, the Everest Panorama trek is doable for all age groups. Remember that at the end of the day, it is an adventure trek, so you will walk uphill following a rugged Himalayan trail.

Most trekkers find the Phakding to Namche Bazaar hike most difficult on this trek because of the steep trail. If you maintain a steady pace and take frequent short breaks, you can navigate it without excessively exhausting yourself.

Altitude sickness

Trekking in the Everest region means there is a risk of altitude sickness. However, compared to other treks in this region, the Everest Panorama trek has a low risk of altitude sickness because of the relatively low altitude gain.

Still, you will trek above 2,500 meters from sea level, so you have to be careful. Our Everest Panorama trek itinerary includes an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, and the daily elevation gain is also under 500 meters.

From your side, drink at least two liters of water daily while hiking, do not rush, and be aware of altitude sickness symptoms. If you feel uneasy or see symptoms like headache, vomiting, insomnia, difficulty breathing, nausea, etc, inform your guide.

Our guides are experienced in dealing with altitude sickness symptoms and can help you relieve them.

Everest Panorama trek permits

You will need two major permits for the Everest Panorama trek: the Sagarmatha National Park permit and the Khumbu Pasant Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance permit. A TIMS Card is not required for the Everest region.

You can collect both permits in Kathmandu or Lukla/Monjo. If you do the Everest Panorama trek with us, we will obtain the permits on your behalf, saving you the leg work. Likewise, our package already includes permit fees, so you do not have to pay anything extra.

Nepal travel visa

Foreigners need a Nepali tourist visa to enter the country and trek in the Everest region, while Indian travelers do not need a tourist visa. Travelers from many countries can apply for tourist visas upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport.

It is an easy process and takes less than 15 minutes. You will need your passport with at least six months of validity, passport-size photos, and travel visa fees. Make sure to fill out the form online for an on-arrival visa. It will make the process faster. The visa costs USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days.

Guide and porter during the trek

A professional Nepali guide will trek with you. Likewise, a local porter from the Everest region will help you with the duffel bag. Guide and porter is there to make your journey safe and comfortable in the Himalayas.

Their expert knowledge and strong support increase the trek success rate by over 50%. Not only that, the journey becomes more immersive, fun, and delightful. We make sure to assign friendly, English-speaking guides to our guests.

Accommodation during the Everest Panorama trek

Our Everest Panorama trek package includes standard mountain lodges and a three-star hotel in Kathmandu. You will share rooms with another trekker. If you are not comfortable with sharing rooms, upgrade to a single room by paying a few extra bucks.

The lodges are simple but offer a homely vibe. The sleeping rooms usually are small and clean and have two beds. You will have access to clean bedding and blankets. Ensuite washrooms are not available in basic lodges.

Similarly, services like charging, WiFi, and hot showers can cost you a little extra money. You can upgrade to a luxury lodge for better accommodation, spacious rooms, ensuite washrooms, and other amenities.

Melas and drinking water

We ensure that you have enough food during the trek. In Kathmandu, you will only get breakfast, so you have to pay for lunch and dinner yourself. During trekking, we provide three meals a day along with fruits and tea/coffee.

During the Everest Panorama trek, you will not go above Tengboche village, and the food options up to Tengboche are incredible. You will find different cuisines, bakery items, freshly brewed coffee, and many kinds of beverages and snacks.

Thukpa and dal bhat is the trekker's food to stay hydrated and filled for long hours. Apart from these two dishes, you will find fried rice, rice with curries, paratha, stew, thenduk, nonveg dishes, momo, eggs, noodles, pizza, burgers, French fries, pancakes, pies, etc.

Likewise, we drink boiled water during trekking. It is safe to drink. Some trekkers also use water purification tablets to double purify the water.

Travel insurance

We will provide you with a qualified trekking guide who will ensure your safety during the Everest Panorama trek. Still, the trekking region is remote and inaccessible via road.

So, travel insurance covering helicopter evacuation is a must for emergency situations. Evacuation expenses are high. Covering them with travel insurance will provide you with a huge financial backup.

Best time to do the Everest Panorama trek

The best seasons to do the Everest Panorama trek are spring and autumn. These seasons have stable weather, mild climate, stunning mountain vistas, and dry trails. You will enjoy the trek to the fullest because there will be no weather-related hindrance.

Likewise, spring blooms make the trekking route spectacular. Winter is another great time to do the Everest Panorama trek because of the low altitude gain. Trekking in summer/monsoon is challenging because of muddy trails, poor visibility, and unstable weather.

Lukla flights

The Everest Panorama trek starts from Lukla. The most convenient way to reach Lukla is by taking a short flight from Kathmandu or Ramechhap airports.

You will fly to Lulka from Ramechhap in spring and autumn seasons. It is because air traffic is very high at Kathmandu Airport in spring and autumn.

Likewise, in the summer/monsoon and winter seasons, you will fly to Lukla from Kathmandu Airport. Note that the weather has to be ideal to operate Lukla flights, so you may face delays if the weather fluctuates even a bit.
