Guide and Porter cost:
If you are travelling to ABC for the first time I highly suggest that you get a licensed guide so your journey will be easier and you will have more fun at it. The guides will take you through the best route and will also provide care in medical emergencies which is why they are very important
A standard cost for a licensed guide usually ranges from USD $25-$35 per day. This price includes their wage, food and accommodation.
When trekking you will have loads of heavy item with you like; sleeping bag, clothes and other accessories. Carrying all that weight by yourself will be a hassle and pain for you making your trek quite painful. So hiring a porter will relief that pain of yours. A porter usually carries about 22-25 kg of weight. They usually charge USD $18-$25 per day.
You can also hire Guide-cum-Porter which acts as both a Guide and Porter reducing your cost but they will carry less weight than a dedicated porter, they will charge about USD $30-$45.
If you trek in group you can share one guide and porters greatly reducing the cost. Tipping is not mandatory but is often appreciated. Usually USD $5-$10 of tip is given at the end of trek.
Accommodation cost:
During ABC trek you will mostly be spending your nights in tea houses or private lodges depending on your comfort and budget. The prices will keep increasing as you go higher altitude.
The cost for stay at teahouses at lower trail is around USD $5-$10, on the Mid-trek villages it is priced at round USD $8-$15, at high altitudes it is priced around USD $15-$25. Rooms are usually twin sharing room with simple basic beds and blankets.
During peak seasons there is scarcity of rooms so arriving early is recommended, also if you are with the local agencies or travel guide they usually book rooms beforehand making it secure for you.
Hot showers, WIFI, and charging re charged extra money about USD $2-$5.
Meals and Drinks cost:
The best meal that almost all of the trekkers enjoy in ABC Trek or any other trek in Nepal is Dal Bhaat Tarkari, which consist of steamed rice lentils and veggies along with a side of pickles, you can also wish to have choose chicken or goat to have the rice with which will slightly increase the cost. The usual cost of meal in ABC trek is USD $4-$10 per meal depending upon your location.
Bottled water will cost you around USD $1-$3, Hot beverages like tea will cost around $1-$3+, beer might cost you around $5-$7 per can(often more expensive at higher stops).
If you want to save your budget then you can bring a water bottle with purifiers/filter/tablets by which you can fill water from the local taps to avoid buying too many bottled water.
