Day 1:
At the first day you will not be travelling but rather meeting with your trekking guide for briefing. You will spend rest of day shopping and packing necessary items for your trek. At the end you will explore the bustling streets of Thamel enjoying the vibrant nightlife, cozy cafés, and colorful streets, the heart of adventure and culture in Kathmandu.
Day 2:
On the second day, you will start your day early by having breakfast and get ready to leave hotel. Your guide will come pick you up from your hotel at a certain given time. You will then start a comfortable, peaceful ride out of Kathmandu towards Syabrubesi which is the gateway of this trek. You'll enjoy a beautiful Himalayan Road trip filled with terraced green hills, Trishuli river flowing alongside the highway, local markets and scenic mountain blends.
You will reach Syabrubesi in about 7-9 hours. The ending 1-2 hour of the ride may feel a little bumpy depending upon the road conditions. After reaching Syabrubesi you will spend rest of your day there and sleep in a hotel or lodge as your choice.
Day 3:
This is the official start of your trek. You will wake up early in the morning have breakfast, pack your bags and leave your lodge/hotel by 8:00 am.
You will be walking for around 6-7 hours about 11-12km. Following the river valley with steady uphill sections you will gradually ascend through terraced fields and pass small settlements like Bamboo and Rimche. In Rimche you will take a lunch break after which you will continue walking. You will cross a suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River and pass by stunning waterfalls. If you are lucky enough it is possible you may also spot local wildlife during this hike.
Your hike started at Syabrubesi(1,460 m) which will end at Lama Hotel(2,470 m) where you will be resting.
Day 4:
You will be starting the day early by fueling your energy having delicious breakfast after which you will pack your bags ready for the day. You will continue your trek on your guide's lead.
It is one of the most beautiful days of this trek. You will walk for 6-7 hours covering 14-15km distance. You will observe dense forests at the beginning and also get the first clear view of Langtang Lirung. You will see Yak grazing in open pastures. You will be passing small settlements like Ghodatabela and Thyangsyap before finally reaching Langtang Village (3,430 m).
You will gain 1,000 meters in altitude this day so acclimatization is very important.
Day 5:
This day you will be leaving Langtang Village, and continue your ascend to Kyanjin Gompa. The trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa is very short and very scenic.
You wil be walking for 3-4 hours covering about 6-7km distance. As the trail ascends, the tree line gets sparse, and you will walk through bushes, juniper, and alpine meadows. Likewise, you will also see mani walls, stupas, and chortens on the way. After passing through Munko settlement you will reach Kyanjin Gompa, the last settlement of Langtang Trek. You will be spending the rest of day relaxing and exploring the village.
The trail is gradual and not too difficult, but you’ll feel the altitude because you are getting higher. You can visit the Yak Cheese Factory for short excursion.
Day 6:
After spending your night in Kyanjin Gompa you will start your day early before sunrise and hike to Tseko-Ri following a rocky trail. Here you will see gorgeous and outstanding views of Mountains like Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Dorje Lakpa, Kang Guru, etc.
After which you will Hike down to Kyanjin Gompa and have your delicious breakfast. You can spend rest of your days exploring the village and I also suggest you to visit not-so-popular but stunning Hydro Glacier Lake.
Your ascend and descend to Tseko-Ri(5,033 m) and Kyanjin Gompa will be about 4-5 hours.
Day 7:
This is the day you officially start your return towards Syabrubesi. Trekking down from Kyanjin Gompa follows the same trail back through beautiful Langtang Valley. Most trekkers take 2 days by first descending to Lama Hotel and resting the day there.
Some very fit trekkers trek back to Syabrubesi in 1 long day (10-12 hours) but 2 days is more comfortable. It is mostly downhill walking and your breathing will be easier as the altitude decreases.
Day 8:
Today is the last day of trek. You will descend from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi, retracting the same route. Enjoy the final day walk through lust forests and small villages. You will walk for 5-6 hours downhill.
Day 9:
After spending your night resting at Syabrubesi you will drive back to Kathmandu on this day. The route is same as the one you first travelled on. After 7-9 hours of driving you will reach Kathmandu marking an end to your successful trek of Langtang Valley Trek.
